Our wood windows swell shut every summer down here near the river. Will a slider avoid that?
It will. Vinyl does not swell with humidity the way wood does, so a slider keeps gliding no matter how damp the valley air gets. The sideways track action also means there is nothing fighting gravity to stick in the first place.
Are sliding windows energy efficient?
