Cleaning the outside of our windows is tough on our sloped Greendale lot. Do sliders help?
They do. The sashes lift out from inside the house, so you clean both sides of the glass standing in your own room instead of trying to set a ladder on a slope. On a hillside lot that is a genuine safety improvement.
Are sliding windows energy efficient?
With triple-pane Low-E glass and quality weatherstripping, yes. The sash still seals against the frame; ours are built for Tri-State temperature swings.
