My CUF two-family has upstairs windows I can't reach from outside. Can they be cleaned safely?
Yes. The slider sashes lift out from inside the unit, so an upstairs flat with no rear access still gets its exterior glass cleaned without a ladder on the hill. That's a big reason we recommend sliders for the stacked flats common across Clifton Heights and Fairview.
Are sliding windows energy efficient?
With triple-pane Low-E glass and quality weatherstripping, yes. The sash still seals against the frame; ours are built for Tri-State temperature swings.
