The double-hungs in my Golf Manor house won't stay up anymore. Repair or replace?
Once the sash balances on a mid-century double-hung are gone, the window drops on its own and the single-pane glass is usually leaking cold too. A new vinyl double-hung with constant-force balances holds the sash wherever you set it and seals out the draft, which patching worn balances rarely does for long.
Are double-hung windows energy efficient?
