Basement Hopper Windows in Riverside

Riverside stretches along the Ohio in 45204, and homes this close to the water fight damp basements every spring. A basement hopper from Bulldog tilts in to move that wet air off the top of the opening and seals against the ground water working at your block. Call (513) 657-2471.

Riverside

Basement Hopper Windows for Riverside homes

Riverside sits right on the river road corridor, and a good share of its houses are older frame and brick homes built when this was a working stretch of the riverfront. The basement openings are short, set low in block or stone, and the original steel and wood frames have mostly given out. Down here the water table is the real enemy, and a leaky below-grade frame lets seepage and river-bottom humidity into the basement every time the level comes up.

A Bulldog hopper is the right window for that fight. The multi-chamber vinyl frame is fusion-welded so it won't wick water or rot the way an old wood sill does, and the multi-point lock draws the sash into a continuous weatherstrip that blocks drafts, ground water, and pests. The bottom hinge lets it tilt inward to vent the damp and clean from inside, and triple-pane Low-E glass with argon keeps the cold off the wall. We custom-fit each one to the opening so there are no gaps for water to find.

Basement Windows

Built Tough for Below Grade

A hopper is essentially an awning flipped upside down — it hinges at the bottom and opens inward from the top. That makes it ideal for basements, where it vents moist air, cleans easily from inside, and seals tight against drafts and pests.

Want the bigger picture? Pair it with replacement windows or a new entry door, and ask about rolling it into one 0%-for-24-months project. For efficiency ratings, the Energy Star program is a good reference.

Common questions

Basement Hopper Windows FAQs

When the river comes up, my Riverside basement gets damp. Will a new hopper keep water out?

A properly sealed hopper stops the seepage and humidity that come through a failing frame, which is a big part of the problem in below-grade Riverside basements. The multi-point lock and full weatherstrip seal the sash tight against ground water and drafts. It won't fix a foundation crack or a high water table on its own, so if you've got standing water we'll tell you straight what the window can and can't do.

What is a hopper window?

A window hinged at the bottom that tilts inward at the top to open. It’s the standard style for basement and other small below-grade openings.

Do hopper windows keep water out?

When closed they seal tight against the frame. We also flash the opening properly so wind-driven rain and ground moisture stay outside.

Can hopper windows be an egress exit?

Standard hoppers are usually too small for egress. If you need a code-compliant basement egress window, we can spec one — just ask at the consultation.
