My Delhi Hills basement stays damp because of the hillside — will a hopper help?
It will. The tilt-in sash lets you vent that damp, stale air out instead of letting it sit against the block. And the weatherstrip and multi-point lock seal the opening against the ground water that hillside lots push toward the wall.
What is a hopper window?
A window hinged at the bottom that tilts inward at the top to open. It’s the standard style for basement and other small below-grade openings.
Do hopper windows keep water out?
When closed they seal tight against the frame. We also flash the opening properly so wind-driven rain and ground moisture stay outside.
Can hopper windows be an egress exit?
Standard hoppers are usually too small for egress. If you need a code-compliant basement egress window, we can spec one — just ask at the consultation.
