My Crescent Springs basement is near the creek and stays humid — does a hopper window actually help ventilation?
It does. A bottom-hinged hopper tilts inward so you can open it to move stale, damp air out of the basement whenever you need to, then seal it back tight. Combined with a good weatherstrip seal against ground moisture, it makes a low-lying basement far easier to keep dry.
What is a hopper window?
