Awning Windows in West End

The West End mixes historic rowhouses with newer builds around the ballpark district, and a lot of these homes have a bathroom or back room that needs private venting. An awning window is hinged at the top and cranks out, so it airs the room during a rainy stretch with the sash acting as a little roof over the opening. Call (513) 657-2471.

West End

Awning Windows for West End homes

The 45203 blocks of the West End carry a wide age range, from 1800s Italianate rowhouses to homes built around the newer development near TQL Stadium. In the older stock especially, bathrooms and utility rooms often have one small, high window that has been painted shut for decades. An awning window brings that opening back to life, venting humidity out at the top of the wall while staying private from the busy streets around it.

We hang awning windows on a fusion-welded vinyl frame with triple-pane Low-E glass and argon fill, so even a small unit holds its own against the summer heat and winter cold. The crank runs a multi-point lock that seats the sash into the weatherstrip, keeping game-day noise and street dust outside. Bulldog's own crews do the measure and the install, and it is all backed by a lifetime warranty on product and labor.

Awning Windows

Fresh Air, Rain or Shine

Because an awning window hinges at the top, the open sash forms a little roof that keeps rain out. That makes them perfect high on a wall, in bathrooms, or paired above and below picture windows for ventilation without giving up the view.

Want the bigger picture? Pair it with replacement windows or a new entry door, and ask about rolling it into one 0%-for-24-months project. For efficiency ratings, the Energy Star program is a good reference.

Vent in the rain

The sash sheds water while open — leave them cracked in a storm.

Great for high walls

Ideal above other windows or up near the ceiling for light and privacy.

Tight seal

Crank-shut sash presses to the frame like a casement.

Privacy + airflow

Placed high, they ventilate without sacrificing privacy.

Common questions

Awning Windows FAQs

Our West End rowhouse has a painted-shut bathroom window up high. Can you replace it with an awning?

That is a straightforward swap for us. We remove the old painted-shut sash, square up the high opening, and fit an awning that actually cranks open again. You get real venting back in the bathroom, and the outward-opening design means you can use it even when it is raining.

What are awning windows best for?

Spots where you want ventilation and privacy — bathrooms, high on a wall, or stacked above or below a large picture window.

Can I leave awning windows open when it rains?

Usually yes — the top hinge means the open sash angles water away from the opening. It’s one of their main advantages.

Are awning windows energy efficient?

Yes. Like casements, they crank tight against the frame for a strong seal, and we build them with triple-pane Low-E glass.

In the community

Neighbors, not a national chain

Bulldog started as a two-person operation in 2001 and never sold out. The money you spend here stays here — our 1,500+ installs were done by full-time local crews, not subcontractors flown in for the week.

When we say we treat every customer like a neighbor, it’s because most of them are. We live in the same Tri-State towns, shop the same stores, and stand behind our work long after the truck pulls away.
